Unreleased // Undiscovered
Introducing a film program by Justin Wiese of Outer Cinema Cincinnati
A series of ambitious, visionary, strange films, all made in North America, yet barely released theatrically in this country. All exist in the cinemasphere as buried treasure, accessible to only the most adventurous cinephiles, cult films in search of their cults. Some may languish in major film studio’s vaults, some existing only on foreign VHS, some only a digital file drifting around the web. The four Unreleased//Undiscovered films are: Aris Iliopulos and Billy Zane’s unhinged and bizarre Ed Wood-scripted slapstick I WOKE UP EARLY THE DAY I DIED, the truly unnerving and mysterious low-budget horror of Clifton Holme’s IN THE DARK, the gonzo action stunt mayhem of Patrick G. Donahue’s PAROLE VIOLATORS, and finally, the whimsical singular vision of Tom Schiller’s legendary unreleased fever dream NOTHING LASTS FOREVER.
Justin Wiese programs cult, fringe and esoteric film screenings as Outer Cinema Cincinnati.
